Lesa Mone is a tech writer and content marketer bridging the gap between blockchain technology and the busy consumer.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Lesa received her degree in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University in 2009. Soon after graduating, she dove directly into digital nomad life, financing her world-wide excursions through freelance travel writing. Lesa published content in The Huffington Post, Elite Daily, Blavity, and Travel Noire, the first online media publication to empower young black Americans to travel.
Lesa lived awhile in California and Spain before landing in Berlin in 2015, at which point she started an online marketing agency, 5ElevenMedia. 5ElevenMedia offered a suite of businesses services including online community & reputation management, SEO, social media marketing, copywriting, blogging, email marketing, and web design. She focused on working with young, startup companies, and SMBs driven by making a positive social impact.
Two years later, she took a full-time copywriting position at LeanIX, a SaaS company offering a B2B Enterprise Architecture Management solution. During her time at LeanIX, Lesa oversaw the creation of all written content for the company, including white papers, blog articles, and various forms of B2B communication. She increased organic traffic by implementing attention-grabbing headlines, leveraging current events and keywords, streamlining concise landing pages, and creating informative yet digestible content on the topic of Enterprise Architecture Management - a new topic for her.
At LeanIX, she increased blog traffic by 25%, newsletter signups by 119%, and contributed to the company’s first inbound sale generated by online content. It was from her learning of Enterprise Architecture that she first became interested in blockchain technology.
In May of 2018, Lesa joined gust.network as the third member, gust.network enables interaction between top talent and employers over a decentralized blockchain protocol. As Marketing Manager and wrote and released the company’s white paper. Here, she gains valuable insight on the ground floor at a startup.
In her free time, Lesa participates in a small but dedicated white paper reading group that gathers to read and digest papers published by emerging companies leveraging blockchain technology to solve real-world use cases.
Assuring that the non-tech people are not left behind, Lesa uses her words to bridge the gap between the fast-moving tech ecosystem and the busy consumer. Her strong written and verbal communication skills allow her to boil down complex topics into digestible explanations with clarity.
Lesa works independently writing, editing, and proofreading white papers and creating content for tech industry leaders, including Rentberry, Swisscom, MasterCard, and XAIN, among others. She is also part of the team that organized Berlin Blockchain Week in September 2018.
Lesa is interested in working with companies who are an integral part of the blockchain ecosystem and at the forefront of technological innovation.
